Giufà, Pull the Door

One Sunday Giufà’s mother went ahead of him to Mass. As she left the house she called out:

“Giufà, pull the door when you leave.”

As soon as his mother left, Giufà took hold of the door handle and began to pull. He pulled and pulled so much and with such strength that the door was separated from its hinges. Giufà put it on his shoulders and went to church to lay it at his mother’s feet.

“Here’s the door!” he said angrily “Is that really a thing to ask your son to do?”
